“Sarah’s Promise”

“By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
Hebrews 11:11
Read that scripture the other night and saw in my heart, her aged hands resting against her pregnant belly. I wanted to show Isaacs's foot pressing against the wall of her womb.
She was 90 when she had him. She had heard God say it and laughed, then tried to make it happen through Hagar, but she’d finally learned her lesson. She was no longer trying to make anything happen. Her hands were at rest. She wasn’t laughing at God anymore either.
She just believed He was going to do what He said He was going to do with her and through her. He had changed her name from “Sarai,” “my princess,” to “Sarah,” “mother of nations.”
She knew she would be a mother of nations. She was in faith, and it was by that faith this barren woman had conceived her son through an impotent man.
She would name this gift “Isaac”. “The Lord laughs.” The Lord certainly got the last laugh. He was right, He was true. And her faith would now count as righteousness, because she was finally resting in it.
God uses the barren to birth promises & the impotent to show Himself Omnipotent!!!
