12”x18” pastel on Canson paper 4/6/18
I was cleaning out some old files and I came across this image I found years ago. I knew in my heart, I was supposed to paint it today.
It resonated with me, something about how I was feeling…touched my heart.
When you have a seer gift, you are very prophetic and discerning, in other words...you can be somewhat hyper-sensitive. You can walk into a room and feel things, you can be talking to someone and know what they are going through.
Just like this little butterfly, you have big antennas.
A seer’s sensitivity can make them seem fragile at times, just like a butterfly’s wings. They seem weak, but it is their gift of wings and sensitivity that also makes them strong. Flying gives them a perspective, caterpillars never have.
Years ago, before I began my ministry, God used this same butterfly, painted by a spiritual dad of mine, Ken Helser, to help me muster up the courage to paint on the platform with the other worshipers, like Jesus had asked me to. So, it is my “ministry” butterfly.
I love butterflies so much, I have different ones that mean different things to me. Another thing that comes with being a seer, everything means something to you that eyes or logic can’t always see or understand.
When I first began praying for people while I was ministering through art, sometimes they would have butterfly wings on in the spirit. I didn’t understand why at first, but it didn’t take me long to realize, they were all artists. It was God’s way of speaking to me. I used to have an artschool called, Rainbow Skies and Butterflies, so maybe that’s why?

Everyone’s wings were different, they would be different colors, textures, even made out of different mediums, and that was how God would speak to me about what they were called to create.
I remember one time, I heard someone say, seers are the most misunderstood of all who are in the body of Christ, and sometimes when you are prophetic, you experience a lot of rejection. It is part of the process of becoming one with God. It hurts, so you run to Him. It is a lot like the chrysalis tomb, where the caterpillar gets its wings. But first, it must choose to die. It has to trust the process...and let God have his way.
But, sometimes it can become so bad, a fear of rejection will begin to haunt you. Or you will begin to think something is wrong with you. We can also have a fear, God is displeased with us, like we have done something unpardonable, and could never be forgiven.
But, I have to remember He loves me. Even if no one else does, or it seems like no one ever will...He will always love me.
I love how this butterfly looks so humble and desperate. He is holding on the that daisy, to God’s love...for dear life!

The daisy represents that for me. Just like the game, hopeless romantics play, with the petals of a daisy, plucking them one by one... “He loves me, He loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not.” We can become double minded at times...but, we must remember, with God there is only one option.
And just like this daisy still has all its petals, we have as many chances as we need.
He will always forgive us, if we just humble ourselves, repent and pray.
Oh yes...oh how He loves me, He loves me, He loves me...and He loves you too!
And there are always enough love petals for everyone.
