"Fully Surrendered"
12"x18" acrylic on stretched canvas
August 16th, 2016
I saw this in my quiet time recently and I knew God was requiring more of a surrendering in my life.
More death. More faith. More trust.
When I started to paint today, I turned on Kansas City IHOP to listen to worship and they were singing a song I'd never heard before about surrendering. God's timing is perfect.
It's our reasonable act of worship to be a living sacrifice unto the Lord.
That's the cry of my heart. To be fully surrendered to the One who paid the price for my sins. He alone is worthy!
I will pour out my paint at his feet...
Like the sinful woman poured out her costly perfume.
After the painting was finished I looked up the songs. Here are the words:
I Will Offer Up My Life by Matt Redmond
I will offer up my life in spirit and truth
Pouring out the oil of love as my worship to You
In surrender I must give my ev’ry part
Lord, receive the sacrifice of a broken heart
Chorus
Jesus, what can I give, what can I bring
To so faithful a Friend to so loving a King
Savior, what can be said, what can be sung
As a praise of Your name for the things You have done
Oh, my words could not tell not even in part
Of the debt of love that is owed by this thankful heart
Verse 2
You deserve my ev’ry breath
For You’ve paid the great cost
Giving up Your life to death
Even death on a cross
You took all my shame away
There defeated my sin
Opened up the gates of heav’n
And have beckoned me in
Refrain
What can I give, what can I bring
What can I sing as an offering, Lord
A woman was singing this song too:
All that's inside
Let there be
No reservations, no walls
Just an open door in my heart for You
I want to give all that's inside of my heart
I want to give all that's inside of my heart to You
So let there be
No reservations, no walls
Just an open door in my heart for You
