"Follow the Lamb" 12"x16" pastel on sanded paper 1/14/11
This is a painting I did for Danny Steyne during a small MOW meeting.
I'd heard him say more than once that God had spoken to him, saying all we should see is the backside of the Lamb. He'd also said that although he had challenged many, no prophetic artist would paint it for him...
So then I just HAD to!!! I started praying about it and found this photo online. I contacted the photographer and he gave me permission to use it.
This image speaks to me because there is a narrow gate in the distance and a harvest to walk through. The lamb seems to be asking if we will follow Him. If we will be like Him and love so much we are willing to take up our crosses and become sacrificial lambs for the sake of others.
Revelation 12:11
They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
John 1:29 The very next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and yelled out, "Here he is, God's Passover Lamb! He forgives the sins of the world! This is the man I've been talking about, 'the One who comes after me but is really ahead of me.' I knew nothing about who he was—only this: that my task has been to get Israel ready to recognize him as the God-Revealer. That is why I came here baptizing with water, giving you a good bath and scrubbing sins from your life so you can get a fresh start with God."
